Community Group

The group chat is one thread with 30 people in it and 526 lines between them. 32 of those lines move Morale and 16 open an event. It is also the one place in the game where the cast thins out: the table below is every member the game gives a day for.

Who the group loses, and when, with the one arrival the tables carry.
Member What the day means
No. 20, From Outside arrives on day 52
No. 23, Young Couple goes on day 7
No. 6, The Young One goes on day 10
No. 24, Runs a Shop goes on day 17
No. 13, Old Couple goes on day 26
No. 2, That Family goes on day 34
No. 11, Works Days goes on day 63
No. 4, The Loud One goes on day 67
Family (No. 18) goes on day 77

9 more members carry day 1 in both columns, which is the table's way of saying nothing, and their lines carry no day either. The remaining 12 carry that same day 1 to join and no day to leave. So the days above are the ones the game commits to, not the whole roster.

Mutual Aid Group

The other group conversation is an open channel rather than a conversation with you. 22 handles post 161 messages in it, on 84 of the days between day 1 and day 100, and it is busiest at 10:00, 9:00, 19:00. None of it can be answered, none opens an event, and no message names a place or sets anything the rest of the game reads. It is the one thread that runs the whole hundred days and never asks you for anything.

The handles, in the order the channel introduces them: Channel, Old Hand, Lurker, East Side, First Timer, Skeptic, West Side, South Edge, North Wall, Lives Alone, In Stock, Asking Around, No Name, Knows a Bit, Insider, Can't Sleep, Whole Family, 30th Floor, Looked It Up, Buying, Old Doctor, Ex-Army. They are handles rather than contacts: none of them has a thread, a number or a shelf.

The sender table lists 57 names in total, and this page covers 25 threads and both group conversations above. The other 30 open no thread of their own: 28 speak inside the group chat and the last 2 carry no message in this build at all.
